WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — The state is investigating a complaint by a West Lafayette mother that workers at a church day care mistakenly fed her breast milk to the wrong baby.
WRTV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/10tDhwS) Cindy Harris says she was contacted by Dayspring Daycare and Preschool Ministry two weeks ago saying the milk intended for one of her 11-month-old twins was fed to another child. Indiana Family and Social Services Administration spokeswoman Marni Lemons says the agency is investigating.
The daycare issued a statement saying the breast milk had not been labeled correctly, saying it was labeled only with an initial and fed to a child whose first name began with the same initial.
Harris says the daycare facility asked her to undergo a slew of medical tests for diseases such as HIV and hepatitis.
