LAPORTE, Ind. (AP) — Police are hoping DNA results shed new light on the death of a LaPorte woman more than 30 years after her death.

Juanita Boyd was found dead in a field Feb. 21, 1981. Police say the single mother had last been seen leaving a local bar with a man. Her body was found a week later in a field.

The 31-year-old Boyd had been strangled and stabbed. Her killer has never been caught.

LaPorte County Detective Andy Hynek tells WSBT-TV (http://bit.ly/Ww0Osq ) police hope someone will come forward with information that could help solve the case. They also hope to get clues from DNA tests that weren't available when Boyd died.

Kevin Boyd says he still has hope police will find his mother's killer.
