INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Police say an infant whose body was found in a creek on the Indianapolis east side had been born recently.
Indianapolis Metro police Sgt. Linda Jackson says investigators estimate the child's age at close to newborn and that his race was white or biracial.
She says the cause and manner of the boy's death his death remain undetermined.
Anyone with information regarding the mother of the infant is asked to contact police at (317) 327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477). Jackson says investigators have concerns for the mother's physical and emotional condition.
Police say they received a call Sunday morning from a man who told them he'd found the boy's body in the creek behind his home.
