INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A nonprofit group that turned banners from the 2012 Super Bowl into shower curtains and beach bags is selling seats from the Indianapolis Indians' former baseball stadium as part of its latest recycling venture.
The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/11Totus ) People for Urban Progress salvaged about 9,000 seats from the old Bush Stadium. Some are being placed at city bus stops, while others will be sold.
The seats can be purchased in their original condition for as little as $45 for a single seat without a base. Refurbished seats range from $800 for a pair with a wooden base to $1,700 for a set of four with a steel base.
The "as-is" seats will be sold Thursday through Saturday. Refurbished seats can take up to four weeks to obtain.
