WARSAW, Ind. (AP) — Police say a meth lab explosion has badly burned a man and damaged a northern Indiana hotel.
After the explosion Saturday evening at Warsaw Days Inn, officers found 36-year-old Paul Luna of Ligonier with his shoes and pants smoldering and severe burns on his arms and head. He's being treated in the burn unit at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.
WANE-TV and The Journal Gazette report that after an initial evacuation, hotel guests were allowed to return to their rooms but damage left four rooms closed. The blast blew a bathroom door off its hinge and collapsed the ceilings of two rooms.
Police say a bystander who suffered smoke inhalation was treated and released at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, about 40 miles west of Fort Wayne.
