Ind. panel suspends pain clinic doctor's license

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — A state panel has suspended a southwestern Indiana physician's license for 90 days for allegedly engaging in dangerous prescription medication practices.

The Indiana Medical Licensing Board suspended Dr. Diane Crowley's license last week after the state Attorney General's Office filed a petition seeking the suspension.

That document alleges Crowley engaged in dangerous prescription practices and allowed non-qualified persons to write prescriptions under her name at the Evansville pain management clinic where she works.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports (http://bit.ly/13uapat ) the petition alleges Crowley was hospitalized and not in the office to write prescriptions on dates where a total of 513 prescriptions were issued to patients under her name.

Attorney general's office spokesman Bryan Corbin says the office will present the state's evidence against Crowley at a later hearing.
