INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The murder trial for an Indiana woman charged with murdering her infant by eating rat poison while pregnant has been rescheduled for this fall.

Marion County Judge Sheila Carlisle on Friday rescheduled Bei Bei Shuai's trial for Sept. 3. Her trial had been set for next month.

The 36-year-old Chinese immigrant was eight months pregnant and heartbroken after a breakup when she ate rat poison in December 2010. The baby was delivered on Dec. 31 and died three days later. Prosecutors charged her with murder and feticide in March 2011, after she was released from treatment for depression. She was later released from jail on bond. In January, Carlisle threw out key testimony regarding the cause of the baby's death.

The case has garnered global interest from women's rights advocates.
