WILLIAMSBURG, Ind. (AP) — Eastern Indiana authorities are awaiting autopsy results they hope can help identify a body found over the weekend in a Wayne County ditch.
Sheriff Jeff Cappa tells the Palladium-Item (http://pinews.co/ZGdX4n ) it could take days for investigators to complete their work on the case.
He says the condition of the body found Sunday afternoon in a ditch near Williamsburg officials prevented officials from even determining the individual's sex, let alone how that person died or the individual's possible identity.
A forensic autopsy scheduled to be performed at Ball State University could provide those answers.
