HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) — A federal judge has set June sentencing dates for two former Lake County Sheriff's Department officers who pleaded guilty to public corruption charges.

Ronald Slusser and Joseph Kumstar are scheduled to be sentenced in June 26 and June 27, respectively, in U.S. District Court in Hammond.

The Crown Point men were indicted in 2011 along with fellow former police officer Edward Kabella for conspiring to use their positions on the department to buy machine guns and laser sights. They allegedly then sold those items on the Internet for profit.

The Times of Munster reports (http://bit.ly/XcJ5tW ) that Kabella was sentenced in January to two years in prison for his involvement in the scheme.
