GARY, Ind. (AP) — Two northwestern Indiana teenagers face murder charges alleging that they fatally shot two brothers following a brief argument along a Gary street.
The 17-year-old and 16-year-old boys were charged Wednesday with two counts of murder and one count of robbery in the weekend shootings that killed 19-year-old Shaqwone Ham and his 18-year-old brother, Charles Wood.
The Post-Tribune of Merrillville reports (http://bit.ly/ZVTnvk ) that the 17-year-old is in custody but an arrest warrant has been issued for the 16-year-old, who's a member of the "Get Fresh" gang.
Court documents state that the teenage assailants had just robbed a 15-year-old Sunday before they argued with and then shot Ham and Wood. Ham was pronounced dead at the scene and Wood died Monday after he was removed from life support.
