DAYTON (WDTN) - The "help wanted" sign is up at Dayton area hospitals.
"Today, we have over 760 jobs that need to be filled in one of our hospitals," said Bryan Bucklew, President of the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association. "So, there is a significant demand out there".
Premiere Health Partners currently has a 196 postings, Kettering Health Network has 430 and Springfield Regional has 120.
Considering the aging population, Bucklew predicts that number will climb even higher in the future. Which is why he says it's a great time for folks to get their foot in the door.
Qualifications vary from a high school degrees to masters degrees and beyond. As for things that will disqualify applicants, tobacco is a big no.
"If you are a smoker, you need to quit," said Buckle. "Not only will they ask you the question, but they also screen for it during employment".
