DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Dayton hospital is waiting on test results to see if three cases of MRSA are connected.
MRSA is an antibiotic resistant bacterial infection.
Miami Valley Hospital officials said three patients with MRSA were all in the same unit of the hospital.
Now, the state health Department is testing to see if they are all the same strain.
Dr. Thomas Herchline, Medical Director Public Health Dayton and Montgomery County, said, "They'll continue to monitor for additional cases to make sure there isn't continuing spread. I think that's the most important aspect of these investigations, is to make sure there hasn't been an unrecognized problem. Than, in the future, we can make sure no one else aquires it at the hospital."
All three infected patients have been treated and released from the hospital.
