XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) - Greene County put dogs deemed vicious on a short leash.
Xenia residents who own specific breeds of dog now have to register those pets with police, in addition to paying a $30.00 registration fee.
Owners must also prove they have insurance for the dog of at least $100,000 and are keeping the canine's vaccinations up to date.
"What we're really trying to do is make sure we have identified those animals that may be vicious animals. We're not trying to restrict anyone from having a pet. We're not trying to restrict anyone from having these animals," said Jim Percival, Xenia City Manager.
Owners who don't register their pets could face a fine.
The following people have recently been booked into Jail. They may not have been convicted of the crimes they are charged with and are innocent until proven guilty.
