Golf rounds jump 10% in May

DAYTON, Ohio (DAYTON BUSINESS JOURNAL) - Dayton Business Journal: The golf industry continues thrive this year.

Rounds played across the U.S. in May increased more than 10 percent compared to last year, according to PerformanceTrak, a data collection effort run by the National Golf Course Owners Association and PGA of America. May also marks the seventh consecutive month that golfers played more rounds.

In addition, rounds played for the year, through May, are up more than 19 percent and open days are up nearly 18 percent compared to the same period for 2011, according to PerformanceTrak.
