Gas prices take a leap upward

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Have you noticed yet? You probably would rather not see it, but you have no choice.

Gas prices took a big jump Thursday.  Our crews spotted gas at $3.89 a gallon.

Experts say a ruptured pipeline in Wisconsin is partly to blame, but so is the drought which killed off much of the corn supply needed to create ethanol.

AAA says we can expect prices to top off in August and then fall when the summer driving season comes to an end after Labor Day.
