Freebies, discounts for Veteran's Day

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A number of area restaurants are offering meals or discounts for Veterans Day. 

Veterans Day is Sunday, November 11, but the federal holiday will be marked on Monday, November 12.

On Monday, participating McDonald’s restaurants in the Miami Valley will celebrate the Veterans Day holiday with a special promotion. Customers who purchase a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese may also purchase a second sandwich of the same type for $0.12.

Texas Roadhouse restaurants will be offering a free meal to veterans and active members of the U.S. military on Monday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Participating restaurants include those on Colonel Glenn Highway in Beavercreek, Bechtle Avenue in Springfield, or Merily Way in Huber Heights.

Any active duty military or veteran will receive a free entree of choice November 12 at all participating Smashburger locations.  Dayton area Smashburgers are located at: University of Dayton Brown St. & Stewart St., York Commons Miller Lane & York Commons Blvd., Shoppes at Route 725 St Rte 725 & Kingsridge.
