Fire destroys motorcycle shop

Six departments were on scene to fight the blaze

PHILLIPSBURG, Ohio (WDTN) - Fire destroys a motorcycle shop in Phillipsburg, sending thick black smoke into the sky. 2News was first on the scene as flames broke out at about 5 p.m. at KRW Cycles in the 11000 of Dayton-Greenville Pike in Phillipsburg.

Fire crews are calling the building a total loss after flames ripped through the wood and brick structure.

Witnesses reported seeing the thick black smoke from miles away.

"We saw black billowy smoke and thought it might be a bonfire. By the time we got here real close, we saw fire coming out of the back of the building and black smoke billowing out of the front of the building," said Barbara Daziens, who witnessed the fire.

Departments from five other jurisdictions were called in to help fight the flames. The cause of the fire is still unknown, although crews said it does not look suspicious.
