DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Flames broke out at a Dayton fire station on West Third Street early Wednesday, and firefighters said the location might have saved the building.

A stack of tires outside of Greg's Tire Shop caught fire around 12:30 a.m. Luckily, there was a fire station located a very short distance away.

Fire officials told 2 NEWS the heat conducted itself inside to a storage locker, and they had to work quickly to make sure it didn't spread to more tires.

The business was closed at the time. The owner said he has security cameras here at the shop. Fire investigators will be reviewing the tapes for answers on Wednesday.
