DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - More law enforcement officers will be hitting the road on Labor Day in a statewide effort to crack down on drunk driving over the holiday weekend.

In Montgomery County, the German Township Police Department will hold a sobriety checkpoint during the evening of Monday, September 6th.

The Kettering Police Department is planning on having at least three extra officers on patrol for the holiday. Their overtime is funded by state and county grants.

Police officers say the want to impress upon those who will be consuming alcohol on the holiday to plan for a designated driver and make sure friends don't drive drunk.
