DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Nearly two dozen dogs are hauled out of a Dayton home after a house fire.
Crews were called to a small fire on Fairview, caused by burning clothes.
After quickly dousing the flames, they found 22 dogs inside the home.
Firefighters removed the dogs as a precaution, then decided to call animal control.
Captain Rennes Bowers of The Dayton Fire Department said, "Crews reported that the dogs appeared to be all right. But, just that many dogs in a confined space, we thought it would be a good idea to have animal control come to check out their welfare."
Animal control arrived and found some of the dogs were malnourished.
No charges are pending at this time.
