DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The defense has rested its case the China Arnold trial after less than two full days of testimony.
Arnold's attorneys called a total of seven witnesses to the stand.
Arnold is accused of killing her 28 day-old daughter, Paris Talley, in a microwave oven in 2005.
The trial, which started a week ago, is the third for Arnold.
The first trial ended in a mistrial.
Arnold's conviction in the second trial was overturned on appeal.
The jury was released for the day around 3:30 p.m. and was instructed to pack a bag in case they are sequestered.
Both the prosecution and defense will have the opportunity to call rebuttal witnesses before closing arguments are made.
