HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) - A Dayton man's death is ruled a homicide, now deputies hunt for his killer.

Authorities say Dante Johnson was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head outside a Speedway Gas Station on North Main Street in Harrison Township.

Investigators initially got the call from an employee at the gas station early Sunday morning.

34-year-old Johnson was pronounced dead a the scene, but deputies weren't sure that the shooting was a homicide until now.

Investigators say they believe Johnson was shot while sitting in his van in the parking lot, but they're not exactly sure how long his body had been sitting there before the witness spotted him.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy, Major David Hale said, "There's not a whole lot of details. The detectives are working looking at other businesses, people in the area for details any surveillance video that may give us additional information."

Hale says any surveillance video the detectives can find could help shed light on what was going on in the area in the hours before Johnson's body was found.

That evidence could be critical to the investigation, as well as your tips.

If you know anything, call Crime Stoppers at 222-7867.
