MIAMI COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) - Investigators are searching for a man they believe is breaking into homes in two counties.

Miami and Montgomery County sheriff deputies are working together on this case.

Surveillance video and an eyewitness accounts place the same man at two different burglaries.

James Goodwin, 22, of Dayton is wanted.

Police believe he is responsible for breaking into two houses.

The first at a residence on State Route 571 in Monroe Township.

Surveillance video captures a man who police have identified as Goodwin after breaking into the house.

It then shows the suspect getting into a white Geo Prism.

This car is what connects Goodwin to a burglary in Harrison Township.

A woman interrupted a burglary at her residence in which a white colored Geo Prism was parked in her driveway.

She blocked the vehicle and called 911.

The suspect left the car and ran off.

"It was a white Geo Prism which is the same vehicle in our surveillance video. The suspect fled on foot. He has not been apprehended yet, however the vehicle does match identically to our surveillance video and the vehicle owner, James Goodwin, also matches one of our two suspects that we have on our surveillance video," said Chief Deputy Dave Duchak, Miami County Sheriff's Department.

Police do believe there is a second suspect, but they have not been able to identify that person.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Goodwin, contact Crime Stoppers at 222-7867.
