MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) - Moraine police released store surveillance video hoping someone can help investigators find a man who has run up stolen debit cards in a least two communities. A couple weeks into January a man used a stolen debit card at Walmart to buy more than a thousand dollars' worth of gift cards and phone cards.
The suspect is the man walking toward the camera in a tan jacket and black cap. Police say the debit card belonged to a man in his eighties who apparently dropped it and didn't realize it when he was at a Miamisburg gas station.
Moraine police say during their investigation they learned Kettering is looking for the same man in connection with a stolen debit card being used in that community. Officer Paul Guess told 2 News people need to act quickly when they realize they have cards missing.
"We always suggest that as soon as you realize that either you've lost your debit card, any kind of credit card or checkbook that you contact your financial institution and have that account frozen and all transactions stopped until you can get a new card and new financial documents," Officer Guess said.
Police believe the suspect took off in a black truck. If you have any information Moraine police want you to call 937-535-1166 or 937-535-1161.
The following people have recently been booked into Jail. They may not have been convicted of the crimes they are charged with and are innocent until proven guilty.
