FRANKLIN COUNTY, OH (WDTN) - Columbus Marshals told 2NEWS that Jeffery Rowe has turned himself in to authorites near Columbus.

Rowe was booked into the Franklin County jail.

A nationwide search took place for Rowe after he was last seen wearing an old man mask.

Thanks to an observant citizen, West Milton police said they knew the name of the man behind the mask.

"We credit a very observant West Milton resident with giving us a good description, a vehicle description, and giving that to officers," said West Milton police chief Gary Kimpal.

Police said they were looking for Jeffrey Rowe of Grove City. Rowe was believed to be the man who robbed a US bank in Miami County on Friday.

Police said Rowe was wearing an old man's mask, a winter coat, latex gloves and a ball cap.

Police said Rowe showed the teller a gun and demanded cash, and this was not the first time he had robbed a bank.

"He did a series of bank robberies in Ohio back in 1998, and spent ten years in federal prison and was released in 2008," said Kimpal.
