TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - Trotwood police have a man in custody in connection with an Aug. 23 armed robbery and abduction.

Rodney Rainey, 25, turned himself in after learning he had been identified as a suspect.

The incident happened just before 10 p.m on Reich Road when a woman called 911 and begged police to "hurry up or we could die."

When officers arrived they found the woman's husband had been abducted. They caught up to the suspects car, but the three men inside refused to stop.

"As officers attempted to pursue them the vehicle crashed through a fence and continued through a park at which time the victim dove from the vehicle," Capt. John Porter explained.

Officers say the suspects then fired several shots toward the officer's cruiser.

It's still unclear what role Rainey played in the pursuit or shooting, but investigators said they know for a fact he wasn't working alone.

"There are at least two more suspects at large who we are still looking for," Porter said.

At this time, Rainey is only charged with aggravated burglary, but more charges could still be added.

If you have any information on either of the other suspects, call Crime Stoppers at 222-7867.
