HARRISON TWP. (WDTN) - Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies are on the lookout for the driver involved in a hit and run.

Investigators said the suspect may have been behind the wheel of a stolen truck. It all unfolded on Webster Street at Ottello, in Harrison Township, around 11 a.m. Monday, June 29.

Officials said the motorcyclist, 25 year-old Christopher Maloon, was headed south on Webster, when a truck traveling the other direction turned in front of him. The two collided, and Maloon was ejected of the bike, but the truck kept going.

"The pickup truck continued west on Ottello without stopping," said Capt. Jeff Papanek, with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. "At some point the pickup and motorcycle became entangled and the motorcycle was drug 2 blocks".

The bike eventually came to a rest in driveway but the truck managed to get away. Officials said they suspect hit and run wasn't the only crime the driver committed. Deputies said the vehicle's description matches a truck that was stolen early Monday morning.

"We are not 100% sure that's involved in the accident, it is a reported stolen out of Preble County," said Papanek. "But we believe there's a strong possibility the two are one in the same".

The stolen truck is described as a newer model silver or gray, Chevy Colorado pickup with a camper top, license plate DLE 5472. Officials said the truck should have heavy front end damage. If you see it, call Crimestoppers at 222-STOP or 222-7867.
