RICHMOND, In (WDTN) - Richmond police think they put a stop to at least some of the recent robberies in their city.
They arrested Timothy Lewis, 33, after officers say they caught him trying to rob the CVS on East Main Street early Friday morning.
Officers chased him down and found a lot of cash on him. Employees then identified him as the man that tried to rob the store.
The workers told police the man threatened them with a gun, although he never showed one. Police did not find one either.
Lewis is now considered a suspect in at least two recent attempted robberies at Phillip's Drug Store and LeeBee's Tobacco on September 26. The suspect in those crimes also claimed he had a gun, but never showed one.
Investigators are also working to tie Lewis to two robberies at the CVS on September 9 and 19.
Lewis is in the Wayne County Jail charged with robbery and resisting police.
