Man shot in groin, taken to hospital

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton police were investigating a shooting Monday night in a part of town all too familiar with gun violence.
The victim was shot in a housing project on Danner Avenue near Stewart Street. around 6:30 pm. He told police a car pulled up and opened fire. He was shot in the groin.
Police did find shell casings at the scene. They are interviewing witnesses. Officers say shootings are not unusual in this part of town.
They urge residents to report any suspicious activity.
The victim has not been identified. His injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.
