MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WDTN) - It took a mere 24-hours to capture a bank robber in Middletown.

Police caught up to the man they say robbed the U.S. Bank on Roosevelt Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say Kenneth Douglas Crawford confessed to the crime.  He was found walking in the area of Verity Parkway and Germantown Road Friday afternoon.

Crawford is homeless and has been staying at various motels and with acquaintances.

Viewers who saw the surveillance photos aired on television identified him to police soon after the broadcast Thursday afternoon.

Police say Crawford did get away with money from the bank, but he told them he spent it already on crack cocaine and prostitutes.

He has a previous arrest for a robbery in Hamilton in 2008.
