HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) - A police chase early Wednesday morning landed a suspect behind bars, but his accomplice remains on the run.
A Huber Heights officer was in the area of Trowbridge and Charlesgate checking for suspicious activity after Miami County deputies spotted someone breaking into nearby construction sheds.
When the officer tried to stop the white Jeep the suspects were operating, the driver took off.
At several different points the suspects ran stop signs and barreled around sharp turns.
About five minutes into the chase, the Jeep turned into a parking lot.
The officer drove to the other side hoping to block it in, but instead the suspect stepped on the gas and waslaunched into the air.
The Jeep flipped and landed in a culvert.
One suspect climbed out and immediately gave himself up, but police said the other one took off running.
"Hopefully we'll get some neighbors that will call and maybe spot him walking around, we think he may be bedded down in the woods back there," Sergeant Chris Kash said.
If you have any information that could help officers catch the second suspect, call Crime Stoppers at 937-222-7867.
