Dayton (WDTN) - Kevin Brame's mother says "I believe there are people right here in our city that know exactly what happened to my son."

Dayton police officer Kevin Brame was gunned down on November 1st, 1999... ambushed, after dropping his two young sons at their Cherry Drive home.

Dayton Police Sgt. Gary White says "He was approaching his car when his assailant approached from a darkened area and fired one shot at Kevin. The gunshot struck Kevin in the neck."

Within minutes of the shooting, Brame's stunned parents were informed what had happened. He had just been with them minutes before, spending time with his father... on his birthday.

"My first inclination that night was why me on my birthday? But later I realized it was the best gift ever to see him before he died."

Now Kevin's parents and his twin brother and sister are left with their pictures and their memories... waiting for the call that will bring justice for Kevin.

"It's a gross miscarriage of justice that people who did this are still free to live their lives miserable as they are it's just not right. We need the community's help and we would like anyone that has any information please help us."

Remember, there is still a $100,000 reward in this case. If you know anything at all about the murder of Kevin Brame, 12 years is long enough. Call Crime Stoppers at 222-stop. That's 222-7867.
