Dayton (WDTN) - Seven months ago, 36-year-old Shelly Bailey was killed in a hit and run accident.  Police ruled the accident a homicide.. but have been unable to track down those responsible.  Now, Crime Stoppers... and her family... are hoping to change that.

The family of  36-year-old Shelly Bailey is hard at work, passing out flyers in search for answers in the deadly hit and run that killed their loved one on May 25th.

Her sister Cristi Wade said "We want justice today.  We are going to put out as many fliers as we can. The case is going nowhere and we  need more information on it."

According to police, Bailey was riding in the front passenger's seat of a car when an unknown driver ran the pair off the road on West Third Street.  Bailey died at the scene.  Police later recovered the car used in the crash, but have been unable to find the driver responsible.

"She has five children from ages 21 to 12 and they need this as a Christmas gift. This would be a great Christmas gift for the kids and the family."

The family handed out hundreds of flyers, walking door to door, placing them on mailboxes, car windshields, and even in local businesses ... all in hopes someone will come forward with new information.

"Gracious, heavenly father, dear Lord.."

They're hoping someone out there has the answer to their prayers... and that one day... justice will be served.

Her daughter Kelly Bailey said "They owe me, my brothers and sisters. They owe us that. They just need to come up and confess."

The family is offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Shelly's death.  And Crime Stoppers is as well, so call 222-stop... 222-7867.  You can also submit your tip via text or email... and you will never have to tell anyone your name.
