DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A local organization is celebrating a real success.

Crayons To Classrooms has given away a million dollars worth of school supplies to Dayton area teachers to use in their classrooms.

The group was formed when local leaders noticed too many kids were going to school unprepared to learn.

"Kids are going to school. They need the basic items, pencils, crayons, paper and those are the things we try to focus on," said Steve Rubenstein, Executive Director of Crayons To Classrooms.

Organizers say they hope to grow even more and help more children in need.
