Freezing cold weather can cause water pipes to burst and cause people a big headache.
“This time of year is when we see frozen pipes that break all the time,” Pester Plumbing Owner Brian Pester said.
Many home are built with plastic pipes, which can withstand the cold better than copper pipes.
“Copper pipes freeze a lot and burst,” Pester said.
Pester told 2 News people should insulate copper pipes and also leave a small stream of water running from their water faucet overnight.
