Coal bunker collapsed at Appleton

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A coal bunker collapsed Saturday at Appleton paper in West Carrollton.

Mill Manager Satish Damodaran told 2News an internal structure of a silo collapsed as coal was loaded into the top of the silo.  The plant has stopped production as a safety precaution until the damage can be assessed.

Fire crews were called to the scene around noon on Saturday when someone reported an explosion at the plant.  There was no fire or explosion at the scene.

No one was injured in the incident.  This is the latest in a series of accidents at the plant.
