CINCINNATI (WDTN) - Officials announced Wednesday that recruiting efforts will kick off next week to identify the first round of employees of the new Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati.
In preparation for a spring 2013 opening, the casino will accept applications from Wed., August 22 through Sun., September 16 to fill about 750 poker dealer, table games dealer, poker supervisor and table games supervisor positions, as well as some select management roles. "If you have a great attitude and a genuine style for providing memorable customer service, you should apply," said Senior Vice President and General Manager Kevin Kline, who also noted that prior casino experience is not necessary to be considered.
Table games dealers and supervisors will make up the casino's single largest team, and will staff 85 table games and a 31-table World Series of Poker room inside the 24-hour casino. The positions are being recruited first because they require the most training.
In addition to table games openings, non-gaming and other casino positions will be posted throughout the fall and early winter to round out the casino's 1,700 member team prior to a planned spring 2013 opening. Horseshoe Cincinnati has committed to hire more than 90% of its workforce from the Greater Cincinnati area.
The casino will be looking for table games candidates who:
- are 21 years of age;
- have earned a high school diploma or GED;
- are able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays;
- are willing to attend several weeks of free training on their own time prior to the casino opening.
- will submit to Horseshoe's drug test and background check; and,
- fulfill requirements to be licensed by the Ohio Casino Control Commission.
After applying, table games applicants who demonstrate an eagerness to learn and embrace Horseshoe's commitment to providing legendary guest service will be invited to enroll in Horseshoe Cincinnati's Table Games Service Academy later this fall. Successful graduates, once licensed by the Ohio Casino Control Commission, will be hired and will begin working at the casino next spring.
Rexroat-Steele also noted that Horseshoe Cincinnati will partner with several community and workforce agencies to expand casino job awareness and offer computer access to potential applicants.
Interested candidates can review table games job postings, watch interviews with real Horseshoe dealers and supervisors, learn about working for Horseshoe and apply online by visiting the Careers page at www.HorseshoeCincinnati.com
