Child killed by car in Shelby County

SHELBY CO., Ohio (WDTN) - A 3-year-old girl died Tuesday after she was hit by a car in the 1000 block of Riverside Drive near the Sidney City Limits.
The girl was crossing the road when she darted into the path of traffic and was struck by a Hyundai traveling westbound.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office the driver attempted to stop, but was unable to avoid the child.
She was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
