COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio State University says a new expansion of its medical center will create about 10,000 full-time jobs by 2015.
The project adds hundreds of new beds for Ohio State's cancer hospital and critical care hospital, and adds new space for research.
Ohio State says about 6,000 of the new jobs will be at the medical center. The project expects to create 4,000 indirect jobs in the community through spending by the university, faculty and visitors.
The project also calls for some 5,000 construction jobs.
A groundbreaking is scheduled for Friday at Ohio State, one of the nation's largest universities.
