DAYTON, OH (WDTN-WBDT) - The first phase of an entirely new interpretive area will open on May 25th and the annual Heritage Festival happens Sunday, May 29.
First, 'History on the Hill' encompasses historic elements, walking trails, interactive components and geological features, It will spread out among multiple acres of rolling wooded hillsides and glacial moraine.
All together the area will reveal untold stories and unseen natural beauty at Carillon Park.
Dayton History will open the area with five chief pieces all connected by winding wooded trails.
The annual 'Heritage Festival' is on Sunday.
The entire community is invited to attend this family friendly FREE festival; attendees may wish to bring chairs or blankets for seating.
Feature performance by the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, plus the Carillon Park Concert Band.
Also, The Classic Jazz Stompers – a Dixieland band and The Day Tones – a strolling barbershop quartet will perform..
Park Opens: 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Admission: FREE ($5 per car for parking) Parking available at Carillon Park and Welcome Stadium with shuttle service provided.
