DAYTON, OH (WDTN-WBDT) - From running a 5K to gazing at stars, from meeting astronauts to viewing rarely-seen space-related artifacts, Space Fest 2012 is sure to engage all ages.
A variety of “out-of-this-world” experiences will take place at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force on May 11-12.
On Friday, May 11, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the museum after-hours!
Two space-related IMAX movies will be shown – Space Station at 5 p.m. and Hubble at 6:30 p.m.
Former NASA astronaut Mark N. Brown will speak about his experiences prior to the Hubble showing, and the theater will offer reduced rates of $6 for adults and $4.50 for children over age 3 for both shows.
On Saturday, May 12, visitors will enjoy a multitude of interactive and fun space-themed programs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
The museum and several partner organizations will offer free hands-on activities for all ages, including special appearances by astronauts, demonstration stations, an indoor planetarium, rocket launches, space-related IMAX films (reduced rates of $6 for adults and $4.50 for children over age 3 for all shows) and Morphis Movie Rides, and special roaming characters.
NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland will be bringing several interactive displays to the museum for the public.
