Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) - Back in the days when WDTN was WLWD, Ruth Lyons reigned as America’s unchallenged queen of daytime TV for 90 minutes every weekday at noon.

Now, baby boomers and their parents can rekindle memories of Christmases past with the Emmy Award-winning Ruth Lyons: First Lady of Television.

This 101-minute biography of the TV pioneer features interviews with David Letterman, Carol Channing, Johnny Mathis, John Davidson, Phil Donahue, Peter Nero, Oscar Robertson and the late Phyllis
Diller.

The production also includes newly discovered video and audio of Ruth with her legendary guests, including Bob Hope, Tony Bennett, George Carlin, Bob Newhart, Liberace, and Peter, Paul and Mary.

The DVD is now available for the first time at United Dairy Farmers stores in Dayton, all proceeds from sales of the DVD ($19.95) benefit the Ruth Lyons Children’s Fund, currently in its 73rd year of operation.

As a bonus, the limited edition DVD/CD package also contains “Holiday Hello,” an audio CD of previously unreleased performances of Christmas songs by Ruth Lyons and her “50-50 Club” cast, including Ruby Wright, Bonnie Lou, Bob Braun and Marian Spelman.

The DVD's are now on sale for the first time in Dayton at your neighborhood United Dairy Farmers.
