Springfield, Ohio (WDTN) -

Saturday, August 11th sets the stage for the Inaugural year of the 2012 Kenton Ridge Band Cougar Prowl 5K Walk/Run to raise money for the behalf of the Kenton Ridge High School Marching Cougar Band 5K.

As the ONLY BAND in Ohio (12 bands selected from international applicants) to attend the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this November, the band has raised $2000 towards the $40,000 needed to replace tubas.

An individual refurbished tuba costs $5000; the Marching Cougars have eight in the band.

The 5K Walk/Run will kick-off at 9:00am at Kenton Ridge High School Football Stadium 4444 Middle Urbana Road Springfield Ohio 45503.

People may walk in to register ($20) starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11th.

Each participant will receive a medal and be cheered along the course by music being played by KRHS Marching Cougar Band..
