Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) - A pinch of Salsa, a dash of Merengue and splash of Rancheras is the perfect recipe for the 12th Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival presented by the Puerto Rican American Caribbean Organization (PACO) and Five Rivers MetroParks.

Latin music and spicy\delicious Latin foods will fill the atmosphere in Downtown Dayton this Saturday from 11am – 11pm.

The event is free to the public.

“Our goal is to showcase the essence of our Hispanic/Latino culture to the Miami Valley communities,” said Joselito Gracia, the new President of PACO. “We will share our heritage through authentic music, dances and of course delicious food,” Gracia added.

According to the new president, festival goers can expect a day filled with family fun which includes plenty of children activities, a dancing contest, Zumba and for those who dare a jalapeno eating contest.

Gracia expressed that family is a very important part of the Hispanic/Latino culture, “our goal is to make this a memorable experience for the entire family.”

Back by popular demand are two headliners, Sammy Deleon and Grupo Fuego. “People enjoy the rhythmic Latin sound of these two groups.

They both bring high energy beats that get you on your feet and your hips swaying from left to right…you can’t help but Salsa,” laughed Gracia.
