Dayton,Ohio (WDTN) - From the orchestra’s first notes to the most spectacular mad scene in opera, Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor reveals chilling tragedy on a grand scale and will leave you breathless.

Lucia just can’ take it any more when she is forced to give up the one she loves for an arranged marriage, setting into motion a frenzy of murder and madness.

Based on an epic 19th century Scottish romance by Sir Walter Scott, this opera portrays a world where women are reluctant pawns in a struggle for powerful family alliances.

Performed in Italian with English Surtitles

Two performances on Friday, October  26 at 8pm, & Sunday, October 28 at 3pm at the Schuster Center.
