The Mad Hatter Costume Shoppe and The House of Magic that was located on Brown Street in Dayton for many years.

Betty started her costume shop in 1967 in her home and moved it to a place on North Main Street in 1968 where she met her third husband, Fred Lemke.

From there they bought a building on Wyoming Street and after several years bought the building on Brown Street and moved the Mad Hatter to that location.

They bought the House of Magic in the 70's and Fred ran that and Betty ran the costume shop.

Fred passed away in 1993 and Betty continued to run the businesses until 2001 when she sole a large portion of the costumes and the Brown Street properties.

She purchased the old Norman Miller Furniture store at 521 Wayne Avenue where she moved the remainder of the costumes and magic inventory and her many collections of Vintage clothing and hats, antiques and assorted things she had collected over the years.

Betty continues to be active with her family and friends and feels very blessed and fortunate to have had and stills enjoys a rich life full of interesting and loving people and wonderful experiences.

Betty invites you to her liquidation sale on October 12th, 13th and 14th at 521 Wayne Avenue next to Coco's Bistro.
