Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) - The third annual Aero Carnival kicks off at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 18 at Huffman Prairie Flying Field located on the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
The event provides a perfect way to explore the field where the Wright brothers learned to control their invention in the sky. Activities during the day include: A 1911 flight simulator, Hay rides, Bouncy houses, games for kids, Antique automobiles and more.
It all takes place from 10:00 until 4:00 and are the centerpiece of a weekend of events focusing on the Wright brothers and National Aviation Day on Sunday, August 19.
The weekend starts off with a 5 and 10 k fun run on Friday, August 17 at 7:00
Sunday will feature a Bike-With-A-Ranger tour of portions of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and a tree identification program.
The culmination of the day’s activities will be an ice cream social co-hosted by Aviation Trail, Inc., and the National Park Service.
All of these activities are free of charge. The events are sponsored by Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park; the 88 Air Base Wing, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base; and by Aviation Trail, Inc.
