DAYTON, OHIO (WDTN) - Beat the winter blues by visiting the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force during special evening hours from 6-10 p.m. on Friday, March 5. A variety of interactive programs will take place throughout the museum during this free family-friendly event.
Throughout the night, visitors will have the unique opportunity to look into 16 aircraft cockpits and also can try out two demonstration stations in the Modern Flight Gallery by building an egg carton glider or landing a model aircraft.
In addition, the IMAX Theatre will offer three movies at a discounted rate. Straight Up! Helicopters in Action will be shown at 6:30 p.m., Dolphins at 7:30 p.m. and Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag at 8:30 p.m. The movies cost $4.50 for everyone 8 years old and up, while children 7 years of age and younger are admitted for free.
The National Museum of the United States Air Force is located on Springfield Street, six miles northeast of downtown Dayton. It is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day). Admission and parking are free.
