The Salvation Army of Piqua is sponsoring their "Puttin' for a Purpose" putt-putt golf fundraiser beginning Tuesday through Saturday, March 14 at Miami Valley Centre Mall.
The putt-putt event is a way to associate children and families with The Salvation Army, Blankenship said.
The 18-hole course is set up throughout the mall using unique putting greens created by various local businesses. Employees of the 18 Piqua companies have worked hard to come up with creative ideas for their individual greens and are eager to see what other businesses have developed.
The course will be open to individual golfers from 3:30-8 p.m. weekdays, 12-8 p.m. Saturdays and 12-6 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $5 to play and golfers also will be entered in a drawing to win a $100 Miami Valley Centre Mall Shopping Spree. Children age 12 and under pay only $3 to play.
Proceeds from the event go to fund The Salvation Army's Summer Feeding Program.
