DAYTON, OH (WDTN-WBDT) - A Special Wish Foundation kicks off the 7th Annual Valentine’s Dance with local celebrities.
It's the second partnership with the Three Hearts: Sue Miller of M&M Title, Dona Niswonger of Union Savings Bank, and Cyndi Scarpelli of Sibcy Cline Realtors.
The Three Hearts started the event in 2005, as their connections at work and willingness to give back to the community aligned perfectly.
The February event will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a Caribbean cruise for two raffle prize, sounds of the Gem City Jazz, and the original Dancing with Dayton’s Stars competition.
This year’s celebrity dancers are Lisa Barhorst, WDTN and CW; Jennifer Reitz of The Blaine Block Institute; Leslie Miller ; Rob Beck, Meijer; Allen Elijah, United Way; and Dr. R. Gregory Shelhouse, Dayton Dental Collaborative.
The mission of A Special Wish Foundation is to grant the wish of a child or adolescent, birth through age 20 who has been diagnosed with a life-threatening disorder.
Since 1983, the Dayton Chapter has been granting wishes to children and adolescents in Montgomery, Miami, Darke, Greene, Mercer and Shelby counties.
The Dayton Chapter has granted over 1,400 wishes – delivering smiles and joy to area children and their families. A Special Wish Foundation is funded entirely through the generosity and support of Miami Valley residents, organizations and volunteers.
